Liverpool Agree Fee for Rasmus Elm

Liverpool are reported to have agreed a fee to sign AZ Alkmaar's Rasmus Elm after claims that Kenny Dalglish flew to Holland to finalise the deal yesterday.
The Reds reportedly tabled an offer of £8m for the Swedish star, and agreed personal terms prior to making a visit to conclude formalities. Spurs also showed an interest in the player and were thought to have signed him late last year, while he has also been receptive to the prospect of a move to Manchester Utd.
However it looks to be Liverpool who have won the race to sign the 24-year-old this summer, a move that should help significantly with the club's inability to convert chances into goals.

Rasmus Elm is a goalscoring midfielder of the ilk that Liverpool have desperately lacked this season. The current bunch have done little to alleviate the pressure on the strikers, but Elm appears to possess a happy knack of doing so.
Many of his goals are thanks to his flawless technique from set plays, his party piece being the ability to trouble goalkeepers directly from corners. He does, perhaps, need to work on his all-round game (he only has one assist this season, coming in the Europa League) but he is still very highly thought both in Holland and in his homeland.
He plays in central midfield, and is the man tasked with linking defence to attack. Almost everything goes through him and he is always willing to win the ball back should his forward movement not go according to plan.
The general consensus is that the player is ready to take a step up and Liverpool look ready to give him the opportunity. However, with other clubs still sniffing around and his agent cooling transfer talk it is best to wait for confirmation of a deal from the club, lest things go all Phil Jones again this summer!
