According to reports in the Sunday Mirror, FC Twente are ready to listen to offers for teenage striker Luuk de Jong in the summer as hinted by their manager Steve McClaren.
A host of clubs are tracking the progress of the 21-year-old striker who has scored 25 goals in the Eredivisie this season. He is regarded as one of brightest talents to emerge in the last few years and is on the radar of major clubs such as Liverpool, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen, according to his agent.
"Luuk is an 'English style' striker, made for English football." McClaren said.
"I am just desperate to keep him one more year in Holland, but I realise that will be difficult. Luuk is big, strong, brilliant in the air and scores goals so easily. He has every quality a top-class striker needs to have for a big club."
Twente president Joop Munsterman has slapped a big price-tag on their prized asset and will not listen to offers from prospective suitors less then £12.5 million. Munsterman said: "We want to keep Luuk. He is a vital player if we want to win the championship again next season and when we play in Europe.
"We have said that we won't go lower than £12.5 million as a transfer fee. We need a top price for a top player."
