LFC Ladies visit Melwood

The Liverpool Ladies squad took time out of their preparations for the start of the second Women's Super League season this weekend to visit Melwood and meet their male counterparts.
The Reds ladies dropped by the club's training complex ahead of their season opener against Bristol Academy on Sunday to chat with the likes of Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Luis Suarez.
The girls then held a press conference at Melwood as they target a positive opening to their new league campaign at their home ground of Skemersdale United.
It's fair to say Liverpool Ladies didn't reach their highest standards on a consistent basis during the inaugural Women's Super League campaign - but manager Robbie Johnson is in no doubt his side will be a force to be reckoned with this time around.
He said: "We're certainly looking forward to it. We believe we're ready and prepared - and we're hopeful we're going to get a really positive result against Bristol on Sunday.
"We've made quite a few changes. A few players have gone out and we've signed up four or five players. We're still in the market because the transfer window doesn't close until a week tomorrow (Thursday), so we've got some negotiations ongoing.
"There are positives to take from last season. The players became more accustomed to the league and we're hoping that experience will be brought into the new season.
"If we maximise our potential in each of the games we play and treat each game separately, we'll be very competitive."
Despite failing to beat Bristol last season, Johnson is confident his side have what it takes to record an opening-day victory.
He added: "We conceded in the 91st minute away from home to draw 1-1, but at home we were completely flat and were defeated by them.
"However, we certainly know we're capable of beating a team like Bristol."
