Liverpool FC: Ex-Swansea Star Gylfi Sigurdsson to Join Reds

Since Liverpool Football Club hired Swansea's Brendan Rodgers to be the team's new manager on June 1, speculation has been rife that the Northern Irish boss might look to bring some new faces from his old team with him to Anfield.
According to the Daily Mirror, the first one has been confirmed, as Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swansea's on-loan star from a season ago, has agreed to join Rodgers at Anfield.
A 22-year-old veteran of 18 Premier League games, Sigurdsson will help add some much-needed creativity to the Liverpool side. A technically skilled player with a booming shot that he is willing to unleash from anywhere, Sigurdsson could help revolutionize a Liverpool midfield that has looked stagnant since the departure of Xabi Alonso in August 2009.
Sigurdsson appeared set to make a move to Liberty Stadium permanent in May, but Rodgers leaving the Welsh has resulted in a swaying of Sigurdsson's mind.

The youngster, in his very best English, also said everything right when asked about a potential transfer to Liverpool, further fueling speculation over a move.
Liverpool is a big club that has a glorious history. English Premier League is the platform that I want to be and hopefully is that I continue to play in that division.
The Icelandic midfielder appeared in 18 League games for the Swans on-loan last season, putting his offensive touch on display with seven goals and three assists. In that time, he established himself as one of the Premier League's brightest attacking midfield talents.
Liverpool and Bundesliga club Hoffenheim have apparently agreed a £6.8 million deal for the Hafnarfjörður-native, with the move pending an explanation on Sigurdsson's part to the new Swansea manager about why he decided to leave the Swans.
Considering the extent to which Gylfi Sigurdsson is going to improve the team moving into the 2012-13 season, this can only be seen as a great signing for Liverpool Football Club.
