Liverpool face competiton from 15 other clubs for the signature of Dutch striker Luuk de Jong.
Kenny Dalglish targeted the £12m-rated frontman after 21-year-old scored 30 goals in 46 games for Steve McClaren's FC Twente this season.

His agent Luis Laros told The Sun: 'Liverpool are following Luuk closely. But so are 15 other clubs. Three big clubs who played in the Champions League want to do a firm deal with Twente.
'We'll see what cards we hold in a few weeks.'

Dalglish also faces a battle to land AZ Alkmaar forward Rasmus Elm.
The Reds are ready to make a £8m move but Alkmaar technical director Earnie Stewart said: 'We want to keep him for longer. I'm very hopeful he'll stay.'
