A GRANDAD fooled Liverpool FC fans when he made a surprise appearance as Kenny Dalglish during a tour of Anfield.

George Connor had fans doing a double take when he celebrated turning 60 with a tour of the stadium.

The Reds fan, who said he has been mistaken for the LFC manager for the past 20 years, said: "The funny thing is the tour guides ended up taking photos of me. I then got asked if I would go back into the boot room to make a surprise appearance as Kenny Dalglish to the people on the tour. It was great." as they believed I was Kenny.

"I spoke to Jimmy Case and David Johnson who said 'How can you be in two places at the same time?' when Liverpool were away to play Arsenal. So I had a tremendous birthday."

The dad-of-two, from Grassendale, said: "While leaving Anfield I flagged down a black cab and the cabbie said to me: 'I'm taking you to my brothers to show him who is in the back of my cab first'. He said he'd had Rebecca Ferguson in the cab the night before and now he'd had me in his cab."

Former Ford worker George said he was mobbed when he went out into the city centre after Liverpool's Carling Cup final victory.

He decided to try his hand at being a professional celebrity double last summer with a London lookalikes agency.
