Dirk Kuyt

LIVERPOOL FC'S finishing hasn't been good enough but when you hit the
woodwork 21 times there's also a fair bit of bad luck involved.

I can't remember a shot we've had this season hitting the post and
actually going in!

Wojciech Szczesny was excellent for Arsenal and I've been amazed by
the quality of the goalkeeping in the league this season. We've seen
some great performances from visiting keepers and the standard is as
high as it has ever been.

For us to miss six penalties in a season is unbelievable. It didn't
help on Saturday Charlie Adam grabbing the ball like he did. He should
have just given it to Dirk Kuyt. For Kuyt to have to take the ball off
Adam was off-putting.

Who was taking it should have been sorted before the game. I know he's
missed a couple but Kuyt is a good penalty taker. It should be Steven
Gerrard first choice on penalties and if he's not out there then Kuyt.

Stuart Pearce made big mistake with England captaincy

STUART PEARCE'S treatment of Steven Gerrard over the England captaincy
was unbelievably bad man-management.

Scott Parker is a tremendous player but he's not 21. He's the same age
as Steven but has a lot less experience.

Steven has been one of the greatest players in the world over the past
decade and will be crucial to England's hopes of doing anything at
Euro 2012.

But Pearce gave him the ultimate insult and to risk alienating a top
player like that was very naive.

He might be able to coach but to manage England you need to be able to
do more than that.

He's only in charge of England for a short period so I can't
understand why the FA didn't step in and ask him who he was going to
make captain.

If I was Steven I'd be thinking about looking after myself rather than
serving my country from now on.

Sad to see Les Parry leave Tranmere

I WAS sad to see Les Parry's reign at Tranmere come to an end.

He tried his best but was fighting a losing battle. The club has to
try to move forward now.

Ronnie Moore is back in charge until the end of the season and I
really hope he keeps them up.

I feel sorry for Les because he did really well after making the move
into management. He's a top fella and whatever he does now I wish him
the best of luck.

Chelsea are a club in disarray

I WASN'T surprised to see Andre Villas-Boas get the sack. Chelsea are
in a real mess and my heart bleeds for them!

It's crazy the way Abramovich gets through managers but with the money
and the power he's got he can just sign blank cheques.

Villas-Boas had clearly lost the dressing room and the team were in disarray.

The problem is some of the players are more powerful than the manager
at Chelsea. That's the way it's been there over the years with a real
arrogance in the squad.

They weren't playing for Villas-Boas and they've got him the boot.

Whoever takes over will need to oversee a big overhaul of the squad.
Chelsea need at least five or six new players.
