Liverpool have been linked to two of Japan's biggest rising stars over the last few months but as the summer draws near those rumors continue to come out in the press.
CSKA Moscow's 25-year-old Keisuke Honda has been linked with a move to Merseyside since last summer but is yet to be made the subject of an offer to the knowledge of any news outlet.
Caughtoffside.com broke news in December of 2011 that Honda had signed with Liverpool after the clubs agreed a £15 million transfer fee but that proved to be false.
Since joining the Russian outfit at the beginning of the 2010 Russian Premier League season Honda has made waves with is Champion's League performances as well as his top class league play.
In 68 appearances for CSKA he has scored 13 goals and has caught the eye of multiple clubs in the process.
Honda also has 31 caps for the Japanese national team, with eight goals in that time proving he can get in done in the world stage as well as club level.
A failed move to Italian Serie A side SS Lazio in the dying hours of the 2012 winter transfer window has left the door open for him to make a summer move.
Goal.com have also announced that CSKA are ready to double his current wages to 3 million in hopes to convince him to stay in Russia.
Liverpool have the funds to acquire the player, and their right side is in desperate need of a player like Honda, but it is unknown if they would want to match that wage.

Another Japanese star on the Liverpool radar is 22-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa.
The Bundesliga star has 59 appearances, with 23 goals since moving to Germany and at his young age, he is producing at a rate above and beyond his international teammate Honda.
Kagawa is only two caps behind Honda with 29 Japanese appearances, but has one more goal at nine.
Both players share an explosive and creative capability that can lift a side, as well as a determined work ethic to improve his own skill-set.
Liverpool would be lucky to have either player, but if you could pick which one the Reds could have then who would you rather see on Merseyside?
