QPR vs Liverpool
Wednesday, 21st March 2012; 8pm kick-off
Loftus Road
Liverpool travel to Loftus Road to take on struggling QPR on a high and bookmakers make them odds-on at 1.8 to bag a vital three points.
Kenny Dalglish's men currently occupy 7th place in the league, 10 points off their dream destination of the fourth spot, and anything other than a win will mean that the club's already slim chances of qualifying for the Champions League will evaporate completely.
But the good news as far as this game is concerned is that QPR have only managed to beat them in one of their last 11 encounters, and the Reds have won eight of those.
The Hoops have also managed to win just one of their last 16 games in the PL, and are currently sitting in the last relegation spot.
They have now gone six matches without a win, and Mark Hughes faces a real battle to turn things around and keep them in the top flight.
Liverpool have won just two of their 9 Premier League games in 2012, but after convincingly defeating Everton in the League through a Steven Gerrard hat-trick and responding well to grind out a narrow win over Stoke City in the FA Cup they should be able to land the hat-trick if turning up in the same frame of mind.
Luis Suarez has recently shown his eagerness to sign a new contract, which has come as a major boost at a time when speculations around his transfer had grown enough to unsettle everyone at the club.
He is a 6 chance with Betfred to open the scoring, and that does look a bit of value.
However Andy Carroll has been doing well of late, and his powerful presence is going to be vital to Liverpool if they are to break down what is going to be a very physical QPR defence.
He looks a big price at 7.5 with Boylesports to bag the opener, but even better value at 3 withbet365 to score anytime.
I fancy Liverpool to edge what is going to be a really hard fought battle, and for those that like to play in the correct score market 2-1 appeals as the most likely outcome at 8.5 with bet365.
